The repair

How a repair runs at Austrian Panelbeaters

01

Straight

Metal first. Filler last.

The crease comes out of the panel itself. Structural damage goes on the jig and gets pulled back to specification, so the doors shut properly and the car tracks straight before anyone thinks about paint.

02

Colour

Matched to your car, not to a chart.

Tinters mixed to the code off the vehicle, sprayed onto a card, then held against the panel under booth light. If the card does not disappear against the paint, it gets mixed again.

03

Gloss

Read the reflection.

Cleared, baked, cut and buffed until the booth strips reflect dead straight down the length of the panel. A wave in that reflection is a wave in the metal, and it goes back in.

What we do

Six things, done properly

Everything a car needs between the accident and the driveway. Nothing gets sent out unless it has to.

  1. 01

    Panel beating

Bent metal worked back to the factory line.

Dents, creases and collision damage taken back to shape on the panel rather than filled over. Doors, quarters, bonnets, boot lids and bumpers.

  2. 02

    Chassis straightening

Pulled true on the jig before anything cosmetic starts.

Structural damage measured and pulled back to specification. A car that closes properly and tracks straight is the part nobody photographs.

  3. 03

    Spray painting

Matched, sprayed and baked in the booth.

Colour matched against the vehicle, sprayed panel by panel or as a full respray, then cleared and baked so the finish holds its gloss.

  4. 04

    Insurance claims

The claim handled from this side of the counter.

Quotes, assessments and authorisations processed directly with the insurer, so you are not the one chasing paperwork after a crash.

  5. 05

    Mechanical work

What the impact broke behind the panel.

Mechanical repairs handled alongside the body work, so a car does not leave the shop looking right and driving wrong.

  6. 06

    Polishing and valet

It leaves cleaner than it arrived.

Machine polishing, paint correction and a full valet before hand-over. Custom work and upholstery on request.

Straight again

Six stages, one car

From the assessment call to the last buff before hand-over.

  1. Crumpled rear quarter panel and broken tail light on a damaged car

    01

    Assess

Damage measured and quoted, insurer notified the same day.

  2. Stripped car bodyshell standing under work lights in a dark repair bay

    02

    Strip

Trim, lights and bumpers off until the bare panel is visible.

  3. Repairer kneeling at a rear quarter panel, sanding filler back to shape

    03

    Beat

Metal worked back to the original line before any filler goes near it.

  4. Masked car being prepared for paint inside a workshop bay

    04

    Prep

Primed, blocked flat and masked to the shut lines.

  5. Spray gun laying a wet coat of paint across a car panel

    05

    Spray

Colour matched, laid down wet and baked under booth heat.

  6. Machine polisher cutting the clearcoat on a dark car bonnet

    06

    Cut and buff

Polished until the booth lights reflect dead straight.
